Strike for Divestment Poster - Join us starting March 24th at 10am

Last week, UBC students made history. In a strike vote that passed by a massive margin, with 76% of students voting “yes”, students sent a clear message: it’s time for UBC to stop profiting from human suffering.

Student are urging UBC to divestment from 30 corporations involved in arms manufacturing and violations of international law. These companies are driving the genocide and occupation in Palestine and around the world. Students are refusing to accept scholarships funded by colonial violence. It’s time for UBC to align its investments with its responsible investing commitments and uphold international law.

The strike is on! March 24 and 25, students will not attend classes and will take to the streets to demand change. The action begins at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 24, so mark your calendars and join us in solidarity. Email your professors to let them know you are participating and ask them to cancel classes for the strike.

Stay tuned for location details, programming, and updates by following @PalestineStrikeActionUBC on Instagram.

There will be workshops, speakers, and actions planned to make these two days impactful and empowering.

This is our moment to stand together and fight for human decency. Let’s show UBC that students won’t back down until they divest from genocide and occupation and invest in a just, sustainable world.
